Launched in 2024, the Learning Commons is more than just a study area—it is a transformative environment where future doctors engage in interactive learning, leverage digital tools, and immerse themselves in knowledge-sharing. Designed with modern learners in mind, the space integrates high-quality medical references, digital databases, and collaborative zones, making it a game-changer for students striving for excellence in healthcare.

“The Learning Commons has transformed library services by shifting from traditional, quiet study spaces to dynamic, collaborative environments that support active learning,” says UNP College Librarian Dona O. Acelador, RL, MLIS.
“Libraries have incorporated a range of new technologies and digital platforms to improve operations and enhance the user experience. Web-based services, integrated library systems, and discovery tools simplify resource access and streamline collection management. Digital repositories and open-access platforms increase the accessibility of scholarly content, while data analytics help optimize services and space utilization,” she adds.
With the Learning Commons now a vital part of the university, UNP and C&E ALS are setting a new standard for medical education—one where knowledge is more accessible, collaboration is seamless, and students are empowered to excel.
