C & E Publishing, Inc. held a teachers’ seminar on senior high school (SHS) at the C & E Information and Resource Center in Quezon City last November 27, 2015 to address the concerns of educators regarding the implementation of the SHS program in 2016.
More than 40 faculty members, deans, and administrators from private schools in the National Capital Region, Bulacan, and Rizal attended the seminar titled “Education Revolution: Say Hi to Senior High.”
Dr. Dalisay Brawner, vice president for academic affairs of the University of Makati, reviewed the SHS program and shared the experience of the university with the SHS pilot program.
Meanwhile, Dr. Isagani Cruz, a former undersecretary of the Department of Education, discussed teaching methodologies and learning materials for the SHS program.
In his opening remarks, C & E chief operating officer John Emyl Eugenio said that with the transition from the existing 10 years of basic education to 12 years, it is imperative for teachers, students, parents, and publishers like C & E to work together and rise up to the challenges of the new educational system.
C & E presented mock copies of SHS textbooks in science, mathematics, and English developed in partnership with international publishers to provide local schools with curriculum-compliant resources.
C & E regularly conducts seminars and trainings on the K to 12 curriculum implementation for faculty and school administrators to help improve the quality of Philippine education and to promote professional excellence.
