C & E Publishing, Inc. conducted the third rerun of its senior high school (SHS) seminar series for teachers titled “Education Revolution: Say Hi to Senior High” in Cagayan de Oro last February 27. More than 80 faculty members and school administrators from private schools in Mindanao attended the activity.
First conducted in Quezon City on November 27, 2015, the SHS seminar aims to address the concerns of private school educators nationwide on the implementation of the SHS program starting in school year 2016–2017. The success of the seminar prompted C & E to do a repeat in Quezon City last January 25, and a second rerun in Cebu City last February 12.
Dr. Brawner, vice president for academic affairs of the University of Makati (UMak) and one of the original speakers of the seminar, also spoke before the Cagayan de Oro gathering. She assessed her school’s pilot-testing of the SHS program from SY 2012–2013 to SY 2015–2016 in her lecture titled “The SHS Pilot Program: Sharing the University of Makati’s Experience.”
Workshops for English, science, and mathematics were facilitated by UMak professors Clarence Ella Alipio, Maria Carmela Sison, and Jessica Rubin, respectively.
